For more than 50 years Waimea Harriers has been encouraging running and walking for people of all ages. We believe running is wonderful for people's fitness and general health! Our motto is 'Run for your life!'
Waimea Harrier events cater for people of all abilities, including competitive runners and walkers, families looking for an outdoor activity they can enjoy together, and social runners and walkers of all ages.

Individual adult membership is $40.
Joint/Couple/Family membership is $60.
Single adult & child/children is $40.

Sharland Cycles 5k Run & Walk Series 25/26
03 December 2025 - Meadows Course
This Wednesday evening our 5km runs and walks continue with the Meadows Course, so come along and check it out! The course map is HERE.
Every Wednesday night in November & December (not 24 & 31 December) and starts again after Christmas in February & March '26.
Registration: From 5:30pm in the Club Waimea Carpark (Google Maps HERE).
Walkers Briefing: 6:00pm at Start Line
Walkers Start: 6:05pm.
Runners Briefing: 6:05pm by Check-In
Runners Start: 6:15pm.
Entry Fee: $3 (free for school kids and youth students).
You can prepay for the last three of the 2025 events (December 3, 10, 17) by depositing $9 into NBS account 03-1354-0478778-00 (use your name as a reference).
Christmas Meal - We will be having a Christmas meal after our last 5k before Christmas, 17 December, which is also a Christmas themed race/event. Contact Elaine if you want to join us and have not filled in the form that has been passed around. Cost: $20 per meal. (Waimea Harriers have subsidised this by $5.00) Menu Options: Hot Ham & Veggies - Fish,Chips & Salad - Chicken Schnitzel, Salad, Chips & Gravy - Vegetarian meal. Note that all orders must be in and paid for by Sunday 14th December.

"walkers and early runners – 3.45pm
runners – 4.00pm
everyone is very welcome to join us
these runs have no marshals, no cones,
no entry fee, (a few exceptions)
you just turn up and enjoy.
Times are taken and published for all events.
All competitors enter at their own risk with safety
being the priority for all competitors,
observing all traffic and safety rules is a must
eg. run on footpaths, other users, give way to all cars etc."
