Waimea Harrier events cater for people of all abilities, including competitive runners and walkers, families looking for an outdoor activity they can enjoy together, and social runners and walkers of all ages.

Individual adult membership is $40.
Joint/Couple/Family membership is $60.

Sharland Cycles 5k Run & Walk Series 25/26
25 March 2026 - Showgrounds Course
On Wednesday 25 March it's the final event of our 25/26 Sharland Cycles Fun Run & Walk 5k series and it's over Colin's Course, so come along, it's your last chance to check it out!
Waimea Harriers will be providing nibbles afterwards in Club Waimea. We will also be having the draw for the Inov-8 running/walking shoes sponsored by Sharland Cycles, you have to have attended 12 of the 15 events & be present on the night, to be in the draw. We'll also have our usual random spot prizes for participants and helpers.
The course map is HERE - remember to create a free WikiLoc account and change the distance units to Km.
The course follows trails through Berryfields and is suitable for juniors although we advise parental supervision for U14s.
Registration: From 5:30pm in the Club Waimea Carpark (Google Maps HERE).
Walkers Briefing: 6:00pm at Start Line
Walkers Start: 6:05pm.(No running or jogging allowed)
WALKERS - If you think you are going to take 50minutes or more - please start early eg 5:45pm and take your own time - talk to one of registration crew if you are unsure.
Runners Briefing: 6:05pm by Check-In
Runners Start: 6:15pm.(You can run, run/walk, jog etc)
RUNNERS - If you think you are going to take 35minutes or more - please start with the Walkers at 6:05pm - talk to one of registration crew if you are unsure.
Entry Fee: $3 (free for school kids and youth students).
Waimea Harriers uses Webscorer© for timing, so everyone needs one of our race numbers.

"walkers and early runners – 3.45pm
runners – 4.00pm
everyone is very welcome to join us
these runs have no marshals, no cones,
no entry fee, (a few exceptions)
you just turn up and enjoy.
Times are taken and published for all events.
All competitors enter at their own risk with safety
being the priority for all competitors,
observing all traffic and safety rules is a must
eg. run on footpaths, other users, give way to all cars etc."
