Waimea Harrier events cater for people of all abilities, including competitive runners and walkers, families looking for an outdoor activity they can enjoy together, and social runners and walkers of all ages.

Wednesday Social Runs/Walks From Club Waimea
Wednesdays 5:30pm in June 2026
With the final Athletics Nelson Autumn Turf Hotel Race taking place on Wednesday 29 April, some of you might be wondering what you will do with your Wednesday evenings from now on. Not to worry - we have a solution...
A group of keen runners and walkers will be meeting in the Club Waimea carpark at 5:30pm on Wednesdays starting from 6 May for a relaxed social run or walk around the Meadows/Berryfields area. Various paces offered. We’ll head out for around 45 minutes, then gather afterwards at Club Waimea for a drink and a chat.
If there is enough interest, these events will continue through winter. You will need a light/torch for when it gets dark and bright reflective clothing is also a good idea so that cyclists can see you.
Everyone is welcome. There’s no fee, no official timing and no race numbers.
Māpua Sprig + Fern 10k Series
20 June 2026
Registration & Check-In will be at the back of the Māpua Community Hall - opposite the Māpua Sprig+Fern on Aranui Road. Google Maps HERE
Check-In Opens: 1.20pm & closes promptly at 2pm.
Briefing: 2pm.
Early Walkers (more than 100mins) start: 1:45pm
Fast Walkers & slower Runners (more than 70minutes) start: 2:15pm
Main running group (faster than 70mins) start: 2:30pm

Walkers and runners of all ages and abilities are welcome! If you don't think you can do 10km but still want to take part, find someone to pair up with for a 2-person relay with each of you doing about 5km - changeover in front of Māpua School.
Enjoy a drink, spot prizes and time together at the Sprig+Fern Māpua afterwards!
You will need a Waimea Harriers / Athletics Nelson Race Registration Number for this timed event. Check HERE to see if you already have a number.

This event is free for school kids & youth students and for members of Waimea Harriers. $10 for others. Pay on the day at Check-in.
If you join Waimea Harriers now you will get free entry to our four Sprig+Fern 10k events (including this one), the Dovedale Hill Race and Run Walk Marlborough's Queen Charlotte Relay (if you are participating in a Waimea Harriers Team).
Individual adult membership or single adult and child/children is $40.

Joint/Couple/Family membership is $60.
